Connecting Google Calendar lets you paste the day's events into your report in one go. The connection is read-only, and only your own events can be inserted. After connecting once, it is a single button from then on.

1. Connect Google Calendar

  1. Open “Settings” and press “Connect Google Calendar” under “Google Calendar”.
  2. On the Google screen, choose the account to use and allow read access to the calendar.
  3. Back in “Settings”, the email address of the connected account means you are done.

2. Insert events into a report

  1. Open “Today's report” and press “Insert calendar events”.
  2. The day's events go in one per line, at the top of the first text field. Times and titles go in as they are, and all-day events say so instead of a time.
  3. The inserted lines are ordinary text you can rewrite. Press “Submit” as usual.

Tip: On a day with no events, “No events on this day” appears.

3. Disconnect

Caution: After “Disconnect”, “Insert calendar events” can no longer fetch events, and using it again means connecting again. Text already inserted into reports stays.

  1. In “Settings”, press “Disconnect” under “Google Calendar”.
  2. “Google Calendar disconnected.” means you are done.

If it does not work

  • “Google Calendar is not connected.” appears — you have not connected yet. Press “Connect in Settings” and follow step 1.
  • “Google Calendar connection expired. Please reconnect.” appears — access was withdrawn on the Google side. Connect again from “Settings”.
  • “Could not fetch events” appears — the request failed. Press it again where you have a signal.
  • No “Insert calendar events” button — your company's template has no text field. Ask an admin to add one.

FAQ

  • Can other members see my events? — Only the text you inserted and submitted. Events you did not insert stay private.
  • Can my calendar be changed by this? — No. The connection is read-only.
  • Can I keep only some of the events? — Yes. Delete the lines you do not need before submitting.
  • Can I pull in someone else's calendar? — Only events visible to the Google account you connected.
