Reading your alerts
On this page
The “Alerts” tab lists the comments and reactions on your own reports, plus mentions and replies addressed to you, newest first. This article explains how to read your alerts and how they relate to email.
What you can do
“Alerts” is where you check everything that has come back to you. Events from the last 30 days are listed newest first, and selecting a row takes you straight to that report's comment section so you can reply there. While nothing has arrived, “No alerts yet. Comments and reactions you receive will show up here.” is shown.
Reading the screen
Each row starts with its kind. There are five: “Comment” for a comment on your report, “Reply” for a reply in a thread you joined, “Mention” for being named directly, “Reaction”, and “Approved” for a report sign-off. Anything that arrived since you last opened the screen carries a “NEW” badge.
When a report is waiting for your reply
When a reader sends a comment with “Request a reply”, the reports still unanswered are grouped at the very top of the screen. Selecting a row opens that report's comment section, so you can reply right there. The row disappears once the author of the report replies; a reply from anyone else leaves it in place.
FAQ
- Do alerts also arrive by email? — Mentions addressed to you and comments on your own reports also arrive by email, at most one email per person per day.
- Can I stop only the emails? — Yes. Clear checkboxes such as “Receive emails when someone mentions me” in “Notifications & org defaults” under “Manage” (members see it as “Settings”), and only the emails stop.
- Does the count of unread reports appear here? — No. Readers check unread reports in the “Feed”.
- Can I see exchanges older than 30 days? — Not on this screen. Look for older reports and comments from “Search” (members see it as “History”).
