Reply with comments, mentions and photo markup

The comment box on a report lets you reply in words, with mentions and with photos you have drawn on. This article covers commenting on “Feed”, asking for a reply, and editing later.

1. Send a comment

Caution: A mention by name also emails that person (at most one a day). Check the name first.

1. Press “Comment” on the report card. Where comments exist, it shows the count, as in ‘3 comments’.
2. Type into “Write a comment (@ to mention)”. Quick replies such as “Great work today!” go straight in.
3. To notify someone, insert their name from the mention list.
4. To attach a photo, press “Photo” and pick one.
5. Press “Send”. The comment appears under the report.

2. Draw on a photo

1. Press “Photo” and pick a site photo.
2. Press the pen mark on the photo.
3. Choose “Line” or “Arrow” and trace with your finger. “Undo” takes back a stroke.
4. Press “Apply markup”, then send the comment.

3. Ask for a reply

1. In the comment box, tick “Request a reply”.
2. Send it. The comment is tagged “Reply needed” and listed as unanswered on the writer's “Alerts” tab.
3. The tag clears once they reply.

4. Edit or delete a comment

Caution: A deleted comment cannot be restored, except with the “Undo” right after. Admins can delete other members' comments.

1. To delete, press “Delete”. It is final unless you press “Undo”.
2. To rewrite, press “Edit”, change it and press “Save”. You are done when “(edited)” appears.

If it does not work

• The report you want to answer is missing — see A report does not appear in the feed.
• A report in another language has no translation — see A report written in another language has no translation.
• The comment will not send — wait until the photo finishes loading.

FAQ

• Where do I read comments on my report? — On the “Alerts” tab, and from “Today's report”.
• Can I stop mention emails? — Yes. Clear “Receive emails when someone mentions me” in “Notifications & org defaults” (members: “Settings”).
• Can I delete others' comments? — Admins only; everyone else only their own.
• Can I read older comments? — Yes, the button above the box loads them.
