Add it to your home screen and use it as an app

Add Zen Daily Report to your home screen and the icon opens today's entry just like an app. There is no app store download, and it takes about a minute. Both sets of steps also appear under “Use as an app” in “Settings”.

1. Add it on iPhone

On iPhone you add it from Safari. Other browsers cannot do this.

1. Open Zen Daily Report in Safari and sign in.
2. Press the share button at the bottom of the screen.
3. Choose ‘Add to Home Screen’ from the list, check the name, and add it. The icon on your home screen means you are done.

2. Add it on Android

On Android you add it from Chrome.

1. Open Zen Daily Report in Chrome and sign in.
2. Press the menu at the top right.
3. Choose ‘Install app’ and confirm. The icon on your home screen means you are done.

3. Add it from the prompt after submitting

Right after you submit a report, the screen may show “Add to your home screen to open the report form in one tap”.

1. On Android, press “Add to home screen” in the prompt and confirm in the browser.
2. On iPhone, press “See how to add it” in the prompt to open this help article.
3. If you do not want the prompt, press “Dismiss”. It will not come back on that device.

If it does not work

• The share button has no ‘Add to Home Screen’ — on iPhone this only exists in Safari. Open the site in Safari instead.
• No prompt appears after submitting — you are already opening it from the home screen icon, or you dismissed the prompt on this device. It also stays hidden when Chrome on Android has not judged the site installable. The steps in this article still work.

FAQ

• Do I need to download anything from an app store? — No. Once it is on your home screen, the icon opens it directly.
• Can I write where there is no signal? — Yes. Drafts and submissions are kept on the device and sent once the signal returns. See A submission stays in "waiting to send".
• If I delete the icon, do I lose my reports? — No. The icon is only a shortcut, and submitted reports stay where they are.
