Zen Daily Report has three roles: “Admin”, “Manager”, and “Member”. The role decides what you can do and which tabs appear. This article covers the three roles and how to read the screen.

What you can do

A role decides what you can see and change inside the company. Roles are assigned on the “Members” screen.

  • Admin — reads reports from every team and can assign all three roles.
  • Manager — reads reports from their own teams, replies with reactions and comments, checks who has submitted, and views the number rollups. A manager also reaches the team, company settings, and billing screens (company settings and billing are shared with admins). A manager can assign the manager and member roles.
  • Member — writes and submits their own reports and replies to comments on them. Other people's reports are visible only when “Team wall” is on.

You cannot change your own role. When a company has only one admin or manager, that person cannot be demoted or removed.

Reading the screen

The tabs depend on the role. Members see them at the bottom of a phone screen, managers and admins at the top.

  • Member tabs — “Write”, “Alerts”, “History”, and “Settings”. “History” searches your own past reports.
  • Manager and admin tabs — “Write”, “Feed”, “Alerts”, “Status”, “Stats”, “Photos”, “Search”, and “Manage”. Company settings live under “Manage”.
  • A tab everyone can gain — turning on “Team wall” in “Settings” adds the “Team wall” tab for every role.

“Feed” and “Alerts” show a badge with the number of unread or new items.

FAQ

  • Can a manager read another team's reports? — No. A manager sees only the teams they belong to. Reading every team requires the admin role.
  • Where do I change a role? — Open “Members & invites” under “Manage” and change the role in the member's row. See Set roles and teams.
  • Can members see “Feed”? — No, “Feed” is for managers and admins. For members to read each other, use “Team wall”.
