Register public holidays and company days off

In “Holiday settings” you can add the public holidays in bulk and add your own company closures. A registered holiday leaves the submission days, so it counts neither in the submission-rate denominator nor in the reminder emails.

1. Register public holidays and closures

1. Open “Status” and select “Holiday settings” on “Submissions”.
2. Select the button that adds the Japanese public holidays in bulk; its label also carries the range of years it covers. Public holidays, including substitute days, become company holidays. Days already registered are not added twice.
3. For your own closures, pick a date and type the reason in the name field, following the “Company closure, etc.” example.
4. Select “Add”. You are done when the day appears in the list of upcoming holidays.

Tip: If your company's market is the United States, the button adds the US federal holidays instead of the Japanese public holidays.

2. Remove a registered holiday

Caution: Removing a holiday puts that day straight back into the submission days, into the submission-rate denominator, and into the reminder emails.

1. In the upcoming holidays list in “Holiday settings”, select “Remove” on the row you want to take out.
2. You are done when the day disappears from the list.

If it does not work

• Nothing is added when you use the bulk button? — That year's public holidays are already registered. Check the public-holiday rows in the upcoming holidays list.
• A past holiday is missing from the list? — The list shows only holidays from today onward. Past holidays appear neither in the list nor in the “Submissions” table: a holiday leaves the submission days, so that column is not shown at all.

FAQ

• What happens to a report submitted on a holiday? — It stays as a record. A holiday only leaves the submission days; it does not block submitting.
• Is a personal day off the same as a company holiday? — No. Personal days off are registered one person at a time from Check submissions and mark a day off.
• Do reminder emails go out on a holiday? — No. Weekends and registered holidays get neither reminders nor the morning digest.
